CENTENARY DAY

1911-2011

In 2011 Holme Primary School had been in its present building for 100 years.

There was a celebration of this on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2011 at the school which included the following events:


9 a.m. - Children met at the Parish Hall (the Old National School) to be registered.














9.15 a.m. - Procession to school including children, staff and invited guests, with parents and village people lining the route.  (Traffic was halted briefly by a team of stewards).


















9.30 a.m. - A commemorative stone supplied by Holme Quarry was unveiled and a tree was planted at school.
















9.45 - 10.30 a.m. - Children went to their classes, while guests met and viewed exhibition.


11.00 a..m. - A special assembly, including a rededication of the school.















1.30 - 7.30 p.m. - Children were allowed to go home, and in the afternoon the school was  open to the village and ex-pupils of whatever age were able to come and reminisce.  There was an exhibition, and the timeline created by pupils in History Club was on display.
